IRS Jovem 2025

IRS Jovem, available since January 1, 2025, offers progressive tax exemptions for young people up to 35 years old over 10 years: 100% in the 1st year, 75% from the 2nd to the 4th, 50% from the 5th to the 7th, and 25% from the 8th to the 10th year, with a limit of €28,737.50 per year.

You can apply monthly through your employer or in the annual tax return. Only young people with a regularized tax situation are eligible, excluding cases such as “non-habitual residents.” A young worker earning €1,000/month could save up to €7,200 over 10 years.
